Grandma’s Coleslaw

This is a refreshing coleslaw made with vinegar and oil rather than with a mayo. Its delicious and my Grandma’s recipe.

Ingredients:

1 head cabbage thinly sliced

1 medium onion thinly sliced

1 green pepper thinly sliced

1 cup sugar

1 cup vinegar

1 tsp dry mustard

1 tsp celery seed

1 tsp salt

2/3 cup vegetable oil

Place cabbage, onion and pepper in a large bowl and mix together well.

In a medium saucepan combine all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Pour over cabbage mixture and mix well. Refrigerate for several hours, a minimum of 3!

Mix well again before serving.

This recipe serves 6-8 people.
